Hi there, I’m lathan

I’m an American wedding photographer serving Brazilian and Brazilian-American couples getting married throughout the United States and in Brazil. Married to a Brazilian myself and fluent in both Portuguese and English, my work lives at the intersection of culture, family, and emotion.

I believe the most meaningful moments aren’t staged — they’re felt. That belief guides everything I do. My approach to wedding photography is rooted in observation rather than orchestration, allowing space for real connection and quiet in-betweens to unfold naturally. What matters most to me is that when you look back at your photographs, you recognize yourselves — authentically, fully, and without performance.

A person is standing on a pathway taking a photo with a camera. The pathway is lined with tall, narrow green cypress trees on both sides, casting long shadows. The landscape in the background is dry with some scattered trees and buildings under a pale sky.

Reflections of two women with bags and a person in a parking lot, seen through a window with horizontal blinds, with parked cars and multi-story buildings in the background.

In the beginning…

I’ve always been drawn to photographs not for what they show, but for what they hold. The way an image can stop time, preserve an emotion, and become a place you return to again and again. During a deeply formative season of my life — newly married and living in Brazil — I became acutely aware of how quickly days pass, and how fragile the moments we love most truly are.

I began documenting my own life for one simple reason: I didn’t want it to slip away. Family life, everyday love, small adventures, quiet moments that one day will mean everything to look back on. That’s when I realized photography, for me, was never just about aesthetics — it was a way of honoring life as it unfolds.
