COUPLE & WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Nighttime scene of a fast-food restaurant with people sitting outside, illuminated signs, and a drive-thru sign overhead.
Two people enjoying a playful moment in the woods during autumn, with trees with colorful leaves in the background.
A woman standing against a wall holding flowers, with a man walking past quickly in front of her.
A woman sitting at a small table in a library, reading a book, with a man browsing bookshelves nearby.
A bride in a white wedding dress standing in a vineyard with blurred man walking in front of her on a cloudy day.

A blank white background with no objects or details.
Black and white photo of two young women in a library, one with curly hair looking down, the other with straight hair and hand on chest, reading a book or magazine.
Two young people, a female and a male, are standing in front of a vintage jukebox inside a retro-style diner or cafe. The woman has long hair and is wearing a sleeveless top and wide pants, while the man has short hair, glasses, and is dressed in a long-sleeve shirt and pants. The background shows framed certificates or awards on the wall.

SERVING USA & BRASIL

Live in the moment, I'll capture it.

I believe the most meaningful moments aren’t staged — they’re felt. My work is rooted in authenticity, capturing real connection, quiet in-betweens, and the beauty that unfolds naturally. Your wedding gallery should feel like you: timeless, honest, and deeply personal — reflecting not only how your day looked, but how it felt.

Brazilian weddings are known for their warmth, emotion, and strong family presence. They move with their own rhythm — long celebrations, heartfelt entrances, spontaneous joy on the dance floor. Having photographed Brazilian and Brazilian-American weddings across the United States and Brazil, I understand these cultural nuances and how to navigate them seamlessly, whether your celebration takes place close to home or abroad.

Your wedding day is approached calmly and intentionally, allowing moments to unfold naturally while nothing meaningful is missed. I don’t orchestrate moments — I make space for them. By observing rather than directing, I allow your day to unfold naturally while staying present enough to anticipate what matters most. The inherited traditions, the emotion that lives between generations, the quiet exchanges that often go unseen — these are the details that shape a wedding day, and they deserve to be preserved with intention.

Hi, I'm LATHAN LAUING

I’m an American wedding photographer serving Brazilian and Brazilian-American couples getting married throughout the United States and in Brazil. Married to a Brazilian myself and fluent in both Portuguese and English, my work lives at the intersection of culture, family, and emotion.

I believe the most meaningful moments aren’t staged — they’re felt. That belief guides everything I do. My approach to wedding photography is rooted in observation rather than orchestration, allowing space for real connection and quiet in-betweens to unfold naturally. What matters most to me is that when you look back at your photographs, you recognize yourselves — authentically, fully, and without performance.

"Highly recommended for how well he serves our family."

Lathan was an absolute joy to work with as our wedding photographer. He brings the right amount of professionalism, talent, and flexibility that are needed on such an important day. He worked hard to prepare ahead of time and make sure that he understood all of the things that were most important to us when it came to photos. He received many praises from family and guests for how easy-going and kind he is.

"A beautiful gallery, delivered promptly and beyond expectations."

Lathan is the best! From the initial meeting that was unbelievably intentional and professional, to the delivery of our beautiful gallery that was prompt and way more than promised. Lathan is clearly passionate about his craft and gladly pours himself into his clients and work, going above and beyond and investing so much creativity. We couldn’t be more grateful that he was our wedding photographer!

(GOING WHERE LOVE TAKES US)

I travel nationwide throughout the U.S., working with Brazilian couples wherever their wedding takes place — whether in Florida, New York, California, Texas, or beyond. Location is never a limitation. What matters most is photographing couples who value authenticity, artistry, and trust.

One of the greatest advantages of working with a Portuguese-speaking wedding photographer is comfort — especially on a day filled with emotion. Being able to communicate naturally in Portuguese or English with you, your family, and your guests creates ease and allows moments to unfold organically.

In addition to weddings across the United States, I also photograph destination weddings in Brazil. Whether you’re returning home to celebrate or planning a destination wedding surrounded by family and friends, I bring experience navigating international travel, timelines, and logistics, along with a trusted network of vendors in both countries.

From intimate beach weddings to large family celebrations, my approach remains the same: thoughtful storytelling, cultural understanding, and imagery that feels unmistakably yours — honest, imperfect, and deeply human.
